Fishead Lab was founded in 2025 in Milan, Italy. It is a non-profit cultural organization and a hybrid art space co-founded by four emerging curators and artists.
The establishment of Fishead Lab originates from a sustained reflection on existing art institutions and systems. The name “Fishead” itself embodies an attitude—one that responds to the sense of authority and distance often associated with traditional art spaces, and seeks to release greater freedom and vitality within artistic practice.
With “art community culture” at its core, Fishead Lab integrates exhibitions, artist studios, and diverse community-based activities. The space is dedicated to building a decentralized public platform grounded in equal exchange. Through ongoing artistic practices, Fishead Lab aims to bridge the distance between artists, collectors, and the public, breaking down boundaries and allowing art to become a participatory, shared, and dAiscussable public experience.
Beyond providing opportunities for young artists and curators to experiment and present their work, Fishead Lab is committed to becoming a long-term partner in their professional development, growing together with its collaborators over time.
